We are seeking an experienced Team Leader – Fund Administrator to lead a team responsible for the administration of a portfolio of investment funds and related entities. The successful candidate will ensure the delivery of high-quality client service, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and team performance while maintaining strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise and mentor a team of Fund Administrators, ensuring high-quality service delivery and achievement of departmental objectives.
- Manage a portfolio of complex investment funds, SPVs, limited partnerships and Global Business entities.
- Oversee the establishment and ongoing administration of investment fund structures, including private equity, venture capital, real estate and collective investment schemes.
- Review and approve board packs, board minutes, written resolutions and other corporate secretarial documentation.
- Ensure the accurate processing of investor subscriptions, redemptions, transfers, capital calls and distributions.
- Review payment instructions and ensure adherence to internal controls and client mandates.
- Oversee the maintenance of statutory records, investor registers and corporate documentation.
- Ensure compliance with the Companies Act, Financial Services Act, Securities Act, AML/CFT regulations and Financial Services Commission (FSC) requirements.
- Liaise with investment managers, directors, investors, banks, auditors, custodians, legal advisers and regulatory authorities.
- Monitor service delivery against agreed deadlines and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Review client deliverables and ensure work meets internal quality standards.
- Support fund launches, restructurings and liquidation processes where required.
- Identify operational risks and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and controls.
- Assist with onboarding new clients and transitioning new fund structures.
- Prepare management reports, monitor team performance and allocate workloads effectively.
- Coach, train and develop team members through regular feedback and performance management.
- Support business development initiatives and participate in client meetings where required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Law or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CGI/ICSA, STEP or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Fund Administration within a Management Company in Mauritius.
- Previous experience supervising or leading a team is essential.
- Strong knowledge of private equity, venture capital, real estate funds, collective investment schemes, SPVs and fund structures.
- Sound understanding of the Companies Act, Financial Services Act, Securities Act, AML/CFT regulations and FSC requirements.
- Strong client relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent leadership, coaching and people management abilities.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fund administration systems.
