We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Team Leader to manage a portfolio comprising Global Business Companies (GBCs), Authorised Companies (ACs), domestic companies, trusts and other client structures. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the timely delivery of corporate secretarial services, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting junior team members. This position is ideally suited to an individual with strong technical knowledge and leadership potential who aspires to progress into a Team Leader role within a dynamic financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Secretarial & Governance
- Manage a portfolio of local and international client entities.
- Prepare and review board resolutions, shareholder resolutions, minutes, statutory records, and corporate filings.
- Coordinate board and shareholder meetings, including preparation of agendas and meeting packs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal procedures.
- Liaise with regulators, government authorities, banks, legal advisers, auditors, and other stakeholders.
- Attend to regulatory filings and ensure statutory deadlines are met.
- Assist with company incorporations, restructurings, and corporate changes.
- Act as a primary point of contact for assigned clients.
- Respond to client requests accurately and within agreed turnaround times.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and intermediaries.
- Coordinate with compliance, accounting, legal, and tax teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Monitor portfolio deadlines and ensure timely completion of all deliverables.
- Assist in improving operational processes and identifying efficiency opportunities.
- Support implementation of technology and automation initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
- Provide guidance and support to junior corporate administrators.
- Review work performed by junior team members where appropriate.
- Assist with training and onboarding of new employees.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities and contribute to team performance and collaboration.
- Partly qualified CGI/ICSA professional, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent qualification.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Management, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 to 4 years' experience in the global business or financial services sector.
- Strong knowledge of the Mauritius Companies Act, Financial Services Act, trust and global business regulatory frameworks.
- Experience interacting with regulators, auditors, banks, and professional intermediaries.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
