The Senior Executive – Fund Accounting shall execute the client due diligence and administrative tasks delegated by the head while ensuring that those tasks are executed as per the Company’s internal Rules and Procedures, as per the Company’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct, as per the Company’s Compliance Policy & Procedure Manual, as per requirements of the Financial Services Commission and other regulatory bodies in Mauritius, and as per global business market’s Best Practices.
Responsibilities
- Train and coach the Fund Accounting Executives on daily tasks.
- Ensure adherence to Business Process Manual ("BPM") and other accounting controls in place for a coherent and consistent quality of deliverables.
- Ensure effective communication with clients and their advisors/ auditors to ensure smooth execution of day-to-day accounting actions.
- Responsible for the completion of accounting CST tasks within the prescribed internal and external statutory and non-statutory deadlines, and of allocation of tasks to the Fund Accounting team members, including monitoring of the progress of client work.
- Review documents including management accounts, statutory financial statements in line with the prescribed model if applicable, tax returns, ledgers, trial balances, reports, analyses, statements, communications and spreadsheets for fund portfolio.
- Responsible for the safe custody of all client files relating to entities under the fund portfolio.
- Holding and attendance to planning and management meetings with the relevant staff, department or managers.
- Submission of timesheets to the Head of Fund on a fortnightly basis.
- Generally ensuring client services within fund portfolio is delivered within the deadlines set by the Company and clients.
- Participating in all aspects of statutory and reporting requirements to the Companies Division, banks and FSC, or any other relevant authorities in regard to the fund portfolio.
- Executing any other tasks related to the job position, which may be assigned from time to time by the ExCo of the Company.
- Assist in any special projects as may be delegated from time to time.
- Assist in any other initiatives as may be delegated from time to time.
Requirements
- Degree holder and/or Fully ACCA Qualified
- 3 - 5 years of experience in the Global Business Industry
- Knowledge of Fund accounting system is required (Paxus / Navision)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of Accounting Standards to include NAV calculations
- Knowledge of Mauritian Companies Act, Trust Act, Financial Services Act and other acts and legislations applicable to the Global Business Sector
- Good communication skills (written and spoken English)
- Strong work ethic, professional and team player
- Quick learning ability to new systems and operational procedures
